Ayurveda is an ancient medical system rooted in India. Before writing developed in India, Ayurveda existed as an oral tradition passed from generation to generation in royal and family households as fundamental family health and wellness. Community members developed expertise in Ayurveda and became recognized as doctors. Ayurvedic doctors served the community and Ayurvedic science, research and protocols were passed from guru to student orally. Over 5,000 years ago philosophy and science evolved in India as Vedic Science. Vedic Science was studied and researched by ancient scientists, physicians and gurus for thousands of years and was eventually documented in the ancient sacred language of Sanskrit.
Ayurveda is a branch of Vedic Science and translated means "the science of life". It is a science that provides an understanding of universal energy and individual uniqueness and provides a roadmap to assist us in aligning to natures rhythms and restoring balance. Ayurveda helps us understand the elements of ether/space, air, fire, water and earth and how the same body that creates unbalance has the ability to restore balance. By maintaining balance we can achieve optimal health and vitality in our life. The body speaks to us through stiffness, pain, and illness. Acknowledging discomfort in the body is a powerful first step in healing.
I look forward to meeting you and assisting you in bringing optimal health, vitality, and joy into your life!
